Current Sports of The Left Turn Legends

The Left Turn Legends have a long storied history of superb athletic prowess over the year. Some sports are more popular than others and change with the times. The Left Turn Legends Athletic Dept. strives to stay abreast of the current and most popular sports and competitions to serve our members and visitors in the best way possible.

We have included official sports, but not things like our chairman’s Sleepy Time Wrestling. We do not recognize this as a sanctioned athletic activity. Despite our repeated effort to get the game banned, the chairman always states, ” You are all already playing”. We also do not know the rules.

Our current competition level sports are: 

Fowling

Fowling is a relatively new sport invented at the Indy 500 in 2001. It is a cross between Football, Bowling and Drinking. There is a huge tournament in the Coke Lot at the Indy 500 and numerous Fowling Warehouses. You can get more information at their official website fowlingwarehouse.com. 

Our Fowling boards will be out at our tailgate for many ad-hoc competitions. Our Official Tournament will be Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 11:00 am.

A traditional game brought forth from the many hallowed halls of our greater learning institutions. This game is a cross between Ping Pong, Bozo Buckets and Beer. There are often many variations in the rules.

Our Official tournament date and time is still to be determined and many impromptu games will be be held throughout the tailgate.

Another competition brought to us from our greater learning institutions. This game is a consists of Red Solo Cups and Beer. There are sometimes variations in the rules.

We typically do not have an official tournament, but more of a spontaneous series of games. Players or this this case traitors often switch teams and allegiances. 

We hope to introduce tournament play in the near future.

Here at the Left Turn Legends Tailgate we are avid cyclists. We usually spend the first day of the tailgate getting things set up and ready to go for the weekend. Then we like to do to downtown Indianapolis for a pretty intense bike race around the city.

We usually have limited availability for this race, but those of us that are there get all fueled up and set the tone for the weekend.
